Pond Substrat, formerly known as Bio Substrat' is a superb product which boosts natural biological filtration due to it's  structure which holds thousands of bacteria. These bacteria help clean the pond water of poisonous compounds. Used widely across mainland Europe on the base of the pond and streams, in filters or for , and when planting pond plants in baskets or bags, in place of aquatic compost. No need for hessian or gravel, just wash the Pond Substrat and use in place of aquatic compost. 5kg by weight, 10 litre by volume.
