Metal constructed items
The cast iron and steel items featured in this category undergo many rust inhibiting processes and should look good for some time before repainting becomes necessary. Every few years the metal parts will need further protection, we recommend an exterior quality metal paint such as Hammerite. If you live near the coast we recommend not purchasing items made from cast iron or steel but instead purchase Aluminium products which will not rust, although they may still become discoloured
