Ligustrum jonandrum is an evergreen with small leaves, often grown as topiary, especially on the continent. This topiary specimen has already been shaped and just needs regular clipping to maintain it. Box leaf privet is very easy to grow and if for any reason it loses it's leaves they will re-grow from bare wood. Unfortunately it is not fully hardy, for example they may not survive a severe winter, and therefore they are exclued from our Hardy Plant Guarantee. Ligustrum jonandrum needs protection from the prolonged hard frosts, either by wrapping in fleece or just standing in a garage or shed on the coldest nights. Ligustrum jonandrum needs regular watering three times a week in summer, make sure the soil always feels moist to the touch but never waterlogged. Little and often is better than allowing it to dry out completely. Feed very two weeks in spring and summer with a liquid feed. Grows much faster than box and it may need clipping every three weeks in summer
