To keep them coming back we are always looking to expand the range of plants and products available on our site by working with reputable suppliers of specialist plants and garden related items who can ship goods direct to our customers.

What we can offer you

We ensure the search engines find your goods, look after all customer contact and privacy issues, and ensure that card payments are fully secure
  • Sell without the need for a merchant account with a bank or paying any transaction fees
  • The ability to feature your goods using the latest shopping cart software without the need for specialist knowledge
  • For more confident sellers we can arrange access to the back office so you can add/amend/delete your own items
  • No listing fees, no annual fee, just a small commission payment of between 20% and 25% on each item you sell. This means if you don’t sell anything, you don’t pay anything! 

Our Quality Standards

To protect our excellent reputation it is very important that direct suppliers share our passion to make the customer fully satisfied with their shopping experience. To this end we are looking for a standard of service which meets or exceeds the following criteria: 

  1. A strong commitment to providing the highest standards of customer service
  2. The ability to offer quality plants and/or products which represent excellent value for money
  3. To supply goods as described, with enough detail on the product specification to ensure the goods match the customer’s expectations when it arrives. If you are supplying plants this means describing the approximate dimensions, pot size and appearance (e.g. stage of growth, flowering, dormant etc). If you are supplying other goods you should include such details as the size, model number, approx. dimensions, condition etc.  
  4. To pack plants/goods to a professional standard, to ensure the goods shipped arrive undamaged, and to only use plain cardboard boxes or bespoke cartons (we can supply The Plant Directory printed cartons and packing tape at cost prices)
  5. Lead times from order to despatch should be 3 days or less.  Up to 10 days could still be acceptable if you offer a particularly specialist product

Terms & Conditions

    1. By listing your items in The Plant Directory online store you are agreeing to our Terms & Conditions
    2. For reasons of consumer protection the contract of sale remains with The Plant Directory, however we expect direct suppliers to supply goods as described, of merchantable quality and within the time period specified in the online store. Payments will not be passed on to suppliers if we have to make a refund to the customer due to the supplier not being able to meet any of these requirements
    3. Customers name and address details are provided to suppliers for the sole purpose of shipping goods to the customer. Such details must never be used by the supplier for their own promotional purposes, stored in any form or passed to a third party. Any supplier found to be contravening this requirement will be withdrawn from the scheme without notice
    4. We reserve the right to pass the full cost of any chargeback, as a result of card fraud or other reason, to the respective supplier of the goods
    5. Suppliers given access to the back office are only authorised to add/amend/delete their own items. All changes are tracked by the software and any supplier found to be interfering with any other items, or any aspect of the admin system and settings will have their access rights withdrawn immediately and their products removed from the online store without notice
    6. Suppliers should ensure they have adequate cover for goods lost or damaged in transit. Suppliers will not receive payment for goods damaged in transit or not received by the customer
    7. Suppliers will be given two months notice of any new charges or changes in the commission rate. Suppliers can remove their items without penalty if they choose to end their association with The Plant Directory
    8. We require an invoice from the supplier detailing our order number, customer surname, final sale price and deduction for commission
    9. We reserve the right to withdraw any goods from our online store at any time and without notice
    10. We reserve the right to add/amend or delete these terms and conditions from time to time without notice
