The Plant Directory only ships to the UK

Every item in our online store gives an indication of the expected delivery time. Most items are shipped within 3 days and we try to warn customers if this is not possible. Our Economy Delivery service offers great value for money and many orders are sent the same day. Some items are normally available for Next Working Day delivery for most UK postcodes providing you order early enough (normally before 2pm).  If you choose Economy Delivery your order may be shipped the same day but at busy times priority is given to Next Working Day orders.  If Next Day Delivery is important to you but is not an option available as you go through the Checkout you are welcome to call us and we will do our best to oblige

Why do we only ship to the UK?

  • the cost of using a courier to other countries will often exceed the cost of the goods
  • there is an increased risk of items being lost with International Post
  • lost or damaged items have to replaced at our expense
  • the cost of us sending replacements outside the UK is far higher than replacing goods within the UK

Failure to deliver on expected day

We will email all customers who provide us an email address when the order is dispatched and give the expected delivery day however we accept no responsibilty whatsoever for either Royal Mail or the courier company not delivering on a specified day, as this is out of our control. A signature is not always needed so goods can be left in a safe place at your risk, such as with a neighbour or in the back garden, so you do not need to be at home when the order is delivered. Please ask for this when you go through the Checkout pages

Shortages, Damaged or Defective items

You must inform us within 7 days in writing or by email of any shortages, or if any part of your order is incorrect, damaged or defective. Photos of damaged items are usually sufficient for us to issue replacements, please send your photos by email to mail@the-plant-directory.co.uk, or post them to The Plant Directory, Scawsby Hall Nurseries, Scawsby, Doncaster DN5 7UB, together with your order detail. We may request that the damaged items are returned to us so please retain the items and the packaging until you receive the replacements. Click on this link to for our Contact Us page. Incorrect, damaged or defective items will be replaced as soon as possible

28 Day Satisfaction Guarantee

We have a 28 day 'No Quibble' Satisfaction Guarantee, so if you do not wish to keep any item for any reason please return it to our Doncaster address within that period for a refund. We do not pay the return carriage/postage but we can arrange it for you and deduct the cost from your refund. You can arrange the return yourself using Royal Mail or internet firms like Interparcel or Parcel to Go, or we can arrange the return with our courier company. The return cost by courier is normally twice the original shipping charge, this is the amount we are charged for a third party collection. In line with most online retailers, any goods returned for a refund must be undamaged and in their original packaging. This does not affect your statutory rights. Paying by Paypal - non return of transaction fee
In exceptional circumstances we may agree to providing a refund beyond our 28 Day Satisfaction Guarantee Period. If you have paid by Paypal, and the transaction was older than 60 days we will refund the total amount less the transaction fee we have paid to Paypal, this is equivalent to £3 in every £100 spent. This is because unlike credit and debit card issuers, Paypal will not refund our transaction fee if the transaction is older than 60 days
