£11.99

Lemon Grass is a tropical plant now well known as a key ingredient in cookery, particularly in Thailand, Malaya, Vietnam and Indonesia. Use the leaves and stems of Lemon Grass plants in curries and stir frys, especially good with seafood. Ideally the minimum temperature to keep it growing all year is 15C but it can survive a temperature down to 5C. In the UK grow in a container and protect from temperatures below 5C. It will go dormant as the temperature and light levels fall, the leaves turn brown but it will make new growth in the spring.  Through the summer you can harvest the leaves and any thick stems and store them in a fridge for up to two weeks or in a freezer for a few months. Lemon Grass Tea is very refreshing but also medicinal, a relaxant for the stomach and gut, and reputably can act as an anti-depressant.
