This great Heather Collection is a mix of 24 named varieties, specially selected to flower at various times of year through all four seasons. For a contrast in foliage colour there are dark greens, light green and gold foliage types with flower colours in white and various shades of pink and red. Heathers flower for a very long time and are excellent groundcover plants, reducing weed growth considerably. In winter they are invaluable for providing colour in patio pots, hanging baskets and containers. They also associate well with conifers. Perfectly frost hardy, they will grow in sun or part shade
Some varieties really need acid soil so to keep them happy, dig in plenty of peat or compost with the soil, alternatively grow them in pots of ericaceous compost. Heathers should be kept moist at all times, use rainwater in limey areas and feed occasionally with ericaceous feed. All heathers should be cut back hard after flowering to keep them bushy. Give them a feed at the same time
