Outdoor Ferns

Outdoor Ferns are ideal for cool, shady places in the garden where many flowering plants would fail to thrive. Although the foliage is predominantly green there are many shades, heights and textures which when combined, can be spectacular. About 50% of the ferns you plant should be evergreen to ensure the fern area does not look bare in winter.  Good companion plants are hostas with their broad leaves and bold colours contrast well with the more intricate fern foliage
