Feijoa sellowiana (Acca sellowiana) - Pineapple Guava

Feijoa or Acca sellowiana is also known as the Pineapple Guava. It is an evergreen bush which grows about 2 metres by 2 metres. Feijoa sellowiana make a good screen to block off unsightly areas in the garden and it is reasonably frost hardy, at least down to -5C, possibly -10C in a sheltered corner. Dig in plenty of organic matter when planting as the Pineapple Guava plant likes moist, fertile soil. Plant in full sun and you will get fuchsia like flowers which attract butterflies, followed by edible, pineapple flavoured fruit
