"This plant sounds almost too good to be true. For best results treat it mean! Thrives on being neglected, pot bound and dry. It is a hardy Bromeliad, tough cousin of those plastic looking houseplant types. After a couple of years, in Autumn, it produces wonderful red stems, with weird blue flowers in the middle, which look so unreal. In the meantime it has tough greyish spiky foliage which is nice anyway. New on the market and great fun. And it's hardy as well - what more do you need!"
