This rarely offered bamboo is non-invasive and can be grown in a pot or planted out. Larger leaves than F. robusta which normally stay on through the winter. The name comes from the lovely coppery red sheath which is found at the base of the branches. Ht to 4m in 10 years. Sun or part shade. Needs permanently moist soil. Makes a beautiful specimen plant
