Palms

This section covers palms which can be used outdoors in our climate, at least during spring & summer. If you are lucky enough to live in the mildest areas of the country such as Devon & Cornwall, or central London, you have the choice of at least five palms which you could risk leaving outside all year round. In other areas you are safe with two species and we would advise providing shelter for others through winter

Palms which are only suitable for indoors such as Howea (Kentia) are listed in the 'Indoor Plants' section
