Crataegus mongyna, also known as Hawthorn and Quickthorn, is a fast growing, native species with sharp thorns and pretty, fragrant white blossom followed by bright red berries in autumn. Hawthorn hedges make a good barrier to both people and animals, but also encourages wildlife. Crataegus monogyna will tolerate wet soils and part shade and will grow to 1.5m in five years, depending on growing conditions

These are quality bare root plants grown in Scotland. The plants are approx. 40-60cm in length, sold in packs of 10, price shown is for one pack and includes Vat, discount available for buying ten packs (=100 plants) or more at the same time. Planting distance is 30-45cm (12" to 18") apart. You can order early to reserve, your card will be debited and the plant/s will be despatched when the bare root season begins, see below

Delivery Times are normally from November to March depending on weather conditions: Most orders are shipped within 5 days but at busy times of year this could be 7 to 10 days. If you order before the plants can be lifted (for example, before the leaves have fallen, or if the ground is waterlogged or frozen) the order will be shipped as soon as lifting starts.
