Corylus avellana Contorta or Twisted Hazel makes an unusual addition to the garden with randomly spiral and twisted stems which look especially good in winter. The long catkins in spring appear before the foliage and last for many weeks. Corylus Contorta is excellent material for flower arranging. Easy to grow, just keep cutting back to keep it small. Thrives in any soil, sun or part shade.
