Chestnut (Portabello) Button Mushroom Grains

£3.49

This Chestnut button (Portabello) mushroom pack produces the desirable, large brown form of this popular mushroom. Broad, and almost open when picked, they have a thicker cap, a wonderful delicate texture and a delicious meaty flavour making them suitable for a large range of dishes. Chestnut mushrooms are very easy to grow in a cool room, shed, garage, greenhouse, cold frame or cellar. Surplus mushrooms can be dried and stored for up to 18 months - instructions on drying are provided. The spores are spread on cereal grains and the first mushrooms generally appear after 20 to 30 days and you can still be harvesting for months afterwards. Try growing your own, this mushroom kit can save you pounds compared to supermarket prices!

Other items required (not supplied) are a large plastic bag or crate, well rotted manure, garden soil and compost. Full instructions provided. This pack contains 50g of dried grains loaded with millions of mushroom spores.

Normally shipped same day (if ordered by 12 noon Mon - Fri)
