Insect eating plants, also known as carnivorous plants, are a wonder of nature. They live in wet, boggy conditions with low nutrient levels, which has led them to supplement their diet by catching and digesting a wide range of insects, including flies, mosquitos and midges. Some insect eating plants are very easy to grow and a fascinating introduction to plant care for children of all ages
The important things to remember is that insect eating plants must have rainwater, as the chemicals in tap water can poison them, and never use any type of fertiliser, they get all the nutrients they need from the insects they catch.
