Sarracenia hybrid - Pitcher Plant - 9cm

£5.98

Sarracenia Pitcher Plants are popular carnivourous plants due their colourful pitchers and wonderful flowers every spring. They are also are one of the easiest carnivorous plants to grow. The pitchers have unusual markings which attracts a wide range of insects down to the bottom of the tube where they drown in a liquid, providing the plant with valuable nutrients. They are very cold tolerant and will survive outside in a bog garden provided it is sited in a sheltered spot

They also like a bright place without being exposed to full sun in the summer, a north or east facing windowsill is fine all year round. Re-pot when necessary in a mixture of sphagnum moss and peat, or specially formulated compost for insect eating plants
