Berberidopsis corallina is a hardy, evergreen twining climber which is useful for growing in shade or part shade. The foliage is dark green and in summer and autumn it has drooping heads of bright red flowers which give it it's common name of the Coral Plant. Berberidopsis corallina needs climbing support but can be grown against a wall, fence or up a tree. Prefers a sheltered site and humus rich, lime free soil. Ht to the top of the climbing support provided but if this is unlimited such as in a large tree, it matures at about 5m
